Ranch House Plans

Ranch style homes are also known as American Ranch, Western Ranch or California Rambler they were introduced to American architecture in the 1930's by Cliff May. Ranch style homes are traditionally one-story and reflect the ultimate symbol of safety, affordability and a casual lifestyle. In 1950 Raised Ranch or Split Level homes become popular by offering the addition of a second living space. The open kitchen/living area is specifically geared for casual and informal entertaining. They are typically asymmetrical shapes with low-pitched roofs.
